Rebekha Sharkie opens southern electorate office

Federal Member for Mayo Rebekha Sharkie will officially open a part-time electorate office in Goolwa tomorrow (Tuesday, October 25).

“I am excited to be opening the office which is the fulfilment of an election promise I made to have a presence somewhere on the South Coast,” the Hills Nick Xenophon Team MP said today.

“I’d like to thank the Alexandrina Council for working with my office to make some space available for us in their Goolwa facilities so residents can come and visit us in person.

“Unfortunately the Australian Electoral Commission ruled that Mayo wasn’t large enough geographically to warrant funding two offices but we have set aside money within our own office budget to make this southern office happen.”

The office will be located in the Alexandrina Council facility at 11 Cadell Street in Goolwa. It will be open Tuesdays, 9am to 5pm.

The office will be trialled for several months to see if demand warrants further opening hours.
