The Tasmanian MP, who has funded his own visit to South Australia in order to support Rebekha, was joined at the Politics in the Vines event at Greenhill Wines Cellar Door by Centre Alliance Senator Rex Patrick.

"During my time as the Member for Mayo I forged strong relationships with my fellow Crossbench MPs," Rebekha said.

"We don’t always vote along the same lines, but we value each other as independent voices who put their communities first ahead of party politics and are fearless holding government to account.

"I and my colleagues have enormous respect for Andrew's pursuit of the truth in relation to Australia's engagement in international affairs.

"At a local level, I have worked with Andrew on a range of issues including transparency around NBN speeds."

Mr Wilkie said he wanted to lend his support to Rebekha's campaign.

"Rebekha has been an exceptional Member of Parliament and I’m keen to see she’s re-elected. The Parliament is a better place with more crossbenchers like Rebekha who work hard and genuinely serve their community. She follows her electorate’s wishes and her conscience on every single vote and is not forced to toe a party line."
