I'm voting for Rebekha because...

With your support, Rebekha Sharkie will continue to be Mayo's independent voice in Federal Parliament.

The Liberal Party is spending big dollars to try and win the seat back. We can’t compete with that, but we have something more powerful. Personal stories of how we have made a difference together are what will win hearts and minds.

Tell people why you are voting for Rebekha Sharkie in the Mayo by-election today. Your endorsement will be published on this webpage and together, our stories will create a more powerful case for why Rebekha Sharkie should be returned as the Member for Mayo than any big-spending budget could.

Rebekha has impressed me with her intelligence, qualifications and wide grasp and understanding of issues. Her respect for constituents and her impressive initiatives, achievements and reports reflect her integrity – a quality not abundantly apparent in the two major parties. When she says she will seek an increase in age pensions she means it. She backs such a move on the grounds that it will decrease poverty, improve the health and wellbeing of us older folk and will stimulate the economy. It will be a greater stimulus to the economy than a huge tax cut for banks which would follow the capitalism principle that “them whats got the capital gets the i$$$$ms.”

Rebekha recognizes her responsibility to act with the utmost integrity if returned to the cross benches and is in the happy position where she would not be required to support some questionable party policy. She helped instigate the banking royal commission, voted for tax relief for small businesses, voted with the Government to reinstate the construction industry watchdog and votes only for the betterment of our community. I am confident she will represent our interests well in her fight to achieve a just allocation of Murray Darling water to meet our needs and that of the environment. I could not with confidence, nor in good conscience, vote for any other candidate to represent us.

Rebekah has worked very hard for Mayo and is affiliated to NEITHER major party. She deserves to see out the period for which she was elected. Then we can vote her in again!

I have delivered many leaflets for Rebekha and have met so many people that she has helped. I have not met one person who does not fully support her, she is such a hard worker, before she came the Liberals did not do anything for Mayo, we hardly existed. I am so ashamed that the Liberals have tried to buy this seat. Mayo and its people are not for sale.

Rebekha Sharkie has proved to be a real linchpin for all in Mayo she has worked extremely well for her community. Her achievements have shown me personally that being a local member is not just being seen in our community but also ensuring good outcomes for all South Australians.

    In such a short period of time since the last federal election she has developed a strong sense of what our needs are where past elected members have failed miserably. Below are only a small sample of her achievements that come to mind but so much needed for us in Mayo;
Twenty four hour doctor and hospital emergency service at Mount Barker.

Gained $ 40 million for two years for Supplementary Local Roads funding for all South Australia with all local councils in
the electorate of Mayo receiving $4.6 million dollars.

The introduction of a mobile phone coverage for people living in high fire risk areas. This is an essential service
particularly for the Mount Lofty Ranges.

I am only too happy to endorse Rebekha to be re elected for Mayo

Rebekha gets my vote because Mayo finally has someone who cares about this electorate. As a “safe Liberal seat” no one really cared. It was just a springboard to bigger things within the party. Now we have someone who is actually doing good things….or trying her best. Like fixing the mobile phone blackspots & keeping mobile service alive during natural emergencies. Just two things that previous members ignored. Go Rebekha, you rock.

I’m voting for Rebekha because she listens to and looks after people in her electorate. As a carer for my 86 year old husband, I had issues with Centrelink when they cut off my Carers Allowance, stating as the reason that I hadn’t returned the necessary forms. I had. I contacted them repeatedly over a 6 month period, trying to get them to review my case. In the end, I contacted Rebekha’s office. Within TWO DAYS it was sorted and I received backpay for the entire period.

Rebekha has demonstrated that she faithfully listens and speaks for the people of Mayo, not just another rubber stamp to big end of town party machine lines.

I have witnessed Rebekah doing as much as she possibly can for Mayo. She works hard and genuinely cares. It would be a real shame for people to be swayed by the liberal candidate who i believe if not elected will be high tailing it back to Victoria in a heartbeat.

Mayo desperately needs Rebekha to speak for us; the Liberal Party desperately seeks a doormat in Georgina Downer to help push through its dangerous self-serving policies in Canberra. Rebekah helped get the Royal Commission into Banking, the Liberals fought against it for two years to hide the corruption and fraud that the ABC’s Four Corners had revealed in 2016. We need Rebekah to argue for us to reinstate funding to the ABC, the one institution that gives us reliable independent news and is willing to reveal Government incompetence and misbehaviour. Her alliance has shown it has the guts to speak up for our agriculture industry while the Turnbull Government has done nothing but kowtow to the Coles Woolworths duopoly which sees Adelaide Hills wine grapes, cherries and apples dumped in favour of cheap, awful imports. I could go on and on but this keyboard could not withstand the pounding. Just back Rebeckah.

Rebekah is real, listens, understands and acts . We need more politicians like her who do not put self first, party second and by-the-way perhaps the people they represent if it suits.
